Why did I decide to run?

For more than a decade I have walked alongside colonia residents and working families here in Doña Ana County, in community meetings and government rooms, watching decisions get made without the people most affected by those decisions ever having a real voice.

I have seen capable, brilliant community members dismissed as though their experience did not count as knowledge. It does count and I am fighting to make sure government knows that and prioritizes their needs. I will not accept leadership that trades community health and wellbeing or environmental protections and conservation for short-term profit.

That is why I am here, to be the bridge between community and government, to lift up those voices who have been left out and disregarded.

I am running for District 1 for one reason: to Serve.
